CLERMONT, Ind. (Sept. 3, 2018) — Mike Salinas won a pedal fest against Wayne Newby in the first round of eliminations at the Chevrolet Performance US Nationals and claimed the final spot in the NNRA Countdown to the Championship at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis.
Richie Crampton was 10th as eliminations began but he lost his round one race to Clay Millican, opening the door for Salinas. Both Salinas and Newby lost traction but Salinas recovered quicker and won the race.
Eliminations continue.
