New look for Butner in 2019

By Anthony Caruso III

Pro Stock driver Bo Butner has a new major sponsor on his car for the 2019 season. Butner has added Nitro Fish to his sponsors.

Nitro Fish — owner by former Pro Stock driver Kenny Koretsky — will have his sponsor on Butner’s hood. In addition, Butner has changed to a sleek black wrap that will also feature the American Flag in the front side.

Jim Butner Auto Group will be towards the back of his car. There will also be stars by The Nitro Fish logo.

He is the latest Pro Stock driver to feature the Nitro Fish brand. Greg Stanfield, Mark Martino, Richie Stevens, Matt Hartford, and Bob Yonke previously had the Nitro Fish brand in their cars in the category.

After initially saying he would retire following the season, his grandmother pulled him back into the sport. He also admitted the 18-race scheduled helped with his decision to return.

Butner has a 26-22 round record in 2018. The 2017 Pro Stock Champion had 10 first-round eliminations.

He also had two wins. The Floyd Knobs, Indiana native also had one runner-up finish.

Butner won the season-opener at Pomona in February. He defeated his teammate Jason Line in the final round.

He also won the Las Vegas 2 in October, driving the “Butner to the Future” car. Butner defeated Erica Enders-Stevens in the final round.

His one runner-up finish came at the Gatornationals in March. He lost to former Pro Stock driver Tanner Gray in the final round.

Gray has since transitioned to NASCAR as a K&N Pro Series Driver.
