Motorsports Recap And Behind The Scenes Access

The (Future) Champ is Here

POMONA, Calif. (November 10, 2017) No one at Auto Club Raceway at Pomona is having a better day than Caden Casner. Christmas came a month and a half earlier for the five-year-old nephew of 2013 NHRA Mello Yello Top Fuel World Champion, Shawn Langdon. Caden is the son of Langdon’s sister, Stephanie, and her husband, Cody.

Kids as young as five years old can go down the eight-mile in half-scale versions of Top Fuel cars. Their engines are single-cylinder two strokes with a top speed of about 40 miles per hour. Caden is expected to start his licensing process sometime this winter and will race for Division 7 next season in the Summit Racing Equipment Jr. Drag Racing League in the 6-9-year-old class.

Caden, who cheeks must hurt from smiling so much, even took the time to sign autographs for his fans.

He also completed his first very first TV interview with Fox Sports!

Once Caden competes he will be the third generation of his family to race in the NHRA. His uncle, Shawn Langdon got his start in Jr. Dragsters as a kid and continued to progress through the ranks racing Super Comp, Top Alcohol Dragster, and currently Top Fuel. Shawn’s father and Caden’s grandfather, Chad Langdon, has raced multiple classes in the sportsman ranks of the NHRA Lucas Oil Sportsman Series.

We’re all looking forward to seeing where Caden Casner will go in his racing career!
